Jerome Choblet of Domaine des Herbauges is at the forefront of a new wave of Nantais producers who have eschewed the dusty insularity of the Muscadet region in favour of flavoursome wines which showcase their heritage but pack more of a punch at a very reasonable price. His Classic Sur Lie is a case in point and should win people back to the region with its elegance and balance. His entry level chardonnay is a revelation.
