Q&A Wines is an independent wine importer and wine supplier providing the highest quality wines to private and trade customers alike. We supply to pubs, restaurants, hotels, farm shops, independent wine merchants, small businesses and any other business who requires a regular supply of wine.

By keeping the business relatively small we can offer a tailor-made service for all of our customers. Within the people in the business we have a total of 50 years of wine trade knowledge. We are continually searching for high-quality, interesting and value-for-money wines from around the world at all price levels.

History & people

Co-Founder and Director Andrew has been based at Mill Farm, Weston Bampfylde since 2006 when he founded Quantock Abbey Wine Cellars, and the creation of a number of business units from the old farm barns allowed the business to grow alongside some thriving local businesses, a farm shop, beauty parlour and various others.

Qualified to WSET Diploma Level, Andrew has been in the wine trade since 1982 and after a number of years both in the London Trade and on his own in the West Country, he now serves trade and private clients across the UK with a specially curated range of wines. With a background in online marketing and PR, he is also a keen wine blogger. Having worked in Paris, London and Somerset, his experience also spans logistics, wine buying and on-trade sales.

Paul Scaife joined forces with Andrew in 2020 to create Q&A Wines. Paul Scaife has been a wine industry professional for over 30 years. Qualified to WSET Diploma Level and with a wide ranging wine trade background, he has worked in brand development, product selection and blending, supplier and client relationship management and a myriad other trade roles. He brings to the team wide ranging experience of working with Bulgarian Wineries in the days before accession to EU membership, plus a wealth of new contacts and wineries eager to prove that Bulgaria is ready for the demands of the contemporary UK market.

Paul can claim to have sung Sinatra in Japanese Karaoke Bars, flambéed with Remy Martin Louis XIII, spoken in depth on Champagne at many of the country’s finest hotels, bumped into (literally) the Queen Mother in Wellington Barracks and got into a whole pile of other scrapes.
